6. A floating drilling rig with the name “APOSTOLOS I” made especially for the execution offshore geotechnical investigations

The following scientific instruments are used to perform geophysical outdoor measurements:

  • Std field equipment Terrameter SAS 1000  An automatic multichannel resistor measuring system with internal channel selector (multiplexer).
  • 2 polyclonal cables (21 strands) of signal transfer with 21 outputs each per 5 meters.
  • 42 steel piles and 42 cables connecting them with the signal cables.
  • 1 12V and 55Ah battery.
  • RS232 cable for transferring data from the logging system to the computer for further processing.
  • GARMIN etrex and GARMIN OREGON handheld GPS for geographic and spatial mapping of tomography
  • Camera.

The following scientific instruments are used to perform geophysical outdoor measurements:

  • Georadar SIR3000 GSSI with antennas of 200, 400, 3000 Mhz
  • 1 stranded 18-pin signal cable with 18 outputs each
  • Cart with distance measuring device that can adjust and recording based on length
  • GARMIN etrex handheld GPS for geographic and spatial mapping of tomography
  • Camera

The equipment used on site included:

  • 8 vertical 4.5 Mega Frequency Geophones and 1 Geophone to use trigger.
  • An 8-pin cable per 5 m for connecting geophones to a PC.
  • A 6 kg heavy weight hammer to create seismic vibrations.
  • A 20cm x 20cm iron plate.
  • 50 m cable to connect the geophone device to the laptop.

Laptop PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK CF-19 Core i5 for checking and saving logs.
